Business is good, really good and you are extremely busy. This is great. And you’ve thought about the reasons why you would need an Online Business Manager and have now decided to hire your Online Business Manager. But where do you start looking for an OBM? To simplify this process, I’ve put together a list to help you out.
Before we get into that though, I need to emphasise the importance of this action. You are about to take a step towards a freedom you may not have experienced for a while.
Being able to step away from your business knowing it is in safe hands with someone you trust and respect will be strange at first, yet liberating and refreshing.
So, here you are, my tips to finding your OBM:
One of the best places to begin your search is one of the simplest. Ask your inner circles. Be it friends, family, business associates and colleagues, your inner circles may be a gold mine.
Asking around often times brings surprising results as well as fulfilling the need you have for your business. You never know, your cousin Helen might know of someone looking for work for just such a position.
This is one place you are sure to find an Online Business Manager. Join Facebook groups with job boards and job opportunities associated with Virtual Assistants and Online Business Managers. Get yourself seen, heard and known.
Comment on posts and offer advice or help where you can. Make a name for yourself and become your own brand. Let the world know you are an OBM.
While you’re building yourself up as a brand, you are naturally going to become friendly with some people. Ask them for referrals. Your network grows day by day within the Facebook groups, LinkedIn and other social media channels you are active on. Make use of those channels and of those growing relationships.
But remember, referrals work best when they move in both directions. You can refer others and they will refer you.
Insta is brimming with candidate Online Business Managers. You just have to do a little digging to find them. And when I say a little digging, I mean it. Just search #onlinebusinessmanager and you’re on your way.
Finding the right OBM for you is a different part of your journey but for now, just knowing where to look is important.
This is probably the most obvious choice but because of that, I wanted to mention it last only because once you open that big box of Google … there’s no turning back. A web search can be a little overwhelming at times and when you Google OBM, rather than Online Business Manager, it’s like opening two cans of very different beans.
Still, Google it but add a bit to your search and pop in, International Association of Online Business Managers. This is where you will find the Certified OBM Directory. Yes! A directory of OBMs.
So that is my list of 5 tips for finding an OBM.
